SQUAD highly reminds me of insurgency. Which is already out and have a decent community. You can customize your equipment and loadout to better fit your playstyle, but are limited to squad classes which you pick (You'll generally get the class you want on one out of three games as far as I'm concerned in the worse case scenarios).

It reminds me more of Battlefield 2 (since it's inspired by a mod for that game), but yeah, i see what you mean regarding the similarity to Insurgency, specially with the classes and such.

Four games i'm really, really looking forward to:

SQUAD:
Basically a standalone game the Project Reality 2 folk made, also was inspired by PR2 and is looking pretty good in recent videos. Pretty sure they will be adding more scenarios other than the Middle East since they've added Russian forces recently.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord
I just love Mount & Blade, played it since the very early versions and probably played all of the famous mods that have been around for a bit. Talewords recently went to Gamescon and they showed alot of stuff that's going to be in the game there, even released a new trailer for it.

Project Slasher:
An "improvised" Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, if you will. Includes some really, REALLY good customization, decent AI and generally better combat gameplay. No image for this, sadly.

Armored Warfare:
To sum it up, it's a World of Tanks with modernized vehicles. It's looking pretty balanced and good at the current moment, and since i love armored vehicles, i'm pretty hyped for it.

I've been looking for an A3 Milsim community for a while, used to play on United Operations back in ArmA 2
