Humans
Lifespan- 60-100 years depending on conditions of living
Inhabit all corners of the world and share a variety of cultures. The most prominent human countries are Hascad and Duskad.

Hascadians
Hascad’s most common language: Common(English)
Hascad is a mixing pot of all races, Humans making up a large majority however most of the people within Hascad follow paganism staunchly. The hills between the Porllaren empire and Hascad’s Northern border harbour some of the most notorious clans of hardy warriors in the realm, known to go screaming into battle facing insurmountable odds, A warlike society coupled with extreme national pride and a high morale makes these clans some of the most enviable allies in any war. These clans follow the deposed Jarnsida’s as they follow paganism and have promised lands to them upon the reinstatement of the rightful king of Hascad.

Ruling over Hascad right now is the Straum dynasty. A dynasty notorious for being among the first to fully adopt Henarism in Hascad. They lead the rebellion 26 years ago which deposed the Jarnsidas and sent the Young Prince and the Queen Mother into hiding in the opposing country Duskad. Under the new Straum king, Hascad has saw an era of trouble and desperation. After the final siege of Husker Du, The capital was captured by the Straum rebels, everyone inside was massacred and it is said that the river that the capital sits on ran red with blood. The new king set off upon a journey of securing his position in the realm by summoning all of the vassals of the now deposed Jarnsidas and offered them two choices. Death or fealty to the new king. Most swore to serve. Those who did not were killed and their lands given to Straum supporters. Many of the nobles who swore fealty to the new king that day kept in direct correspondence with the young prince in exile in Duskad by swapping letters and sending messages to him, encouraging his return. The new Straum king, despite having the correct religion was not the most enterprising, under him the once prosperous southern coast dropped into a slump. Once the most prosperous shore in the world, it is now awash with ruffians and poverty outside large hubs of trading where the only people making money are people who capitalise on anything that presents itself. The Hascadians follow a culture similar to that of the late normans, focusing on a heavy use of cavalry. They use kite shields and chainmail armour. It is said that in the seige of castle Harland a Hascadian cavalryman by the name of Gerard Colas lead a charge with such force that his couched lance punched a hole through the walls of the castle.

Clans in Hascad
Clans who inhabit the northern mountains of Hascad are similar to that of late Irish or Scottish clansmen and speak Gaelic. They organise themselves into large collections of extended family members with a uniting aspect. Perhaps an ancestral home or castle. It is not uncommon for clans to inhabit the run down castles in the northern mountains. Clans fight for land and wealth occasionally however a feeling of unity between these clans results in them banding together in times of strife to fight a common foe. Since the deposition of the Jarnsidas the clans have descended upon the lowlands and have fought a rather successful insurgency against isolated communities of Straum supporters.

Duskadians
Duskad’s most common language is Duskadian(Spanish)
Duskad is a moderately wealthy and strong region to the East of Hascad which has enjoyed long years of peace and bitter war with their neighbours to the west. Hascad and Duskad have fought over things such as resources and outright imperialism seeking to subjugate the other to unite into one large empire to rival the Porlarrens in the north.
Duskad has held strong however, their knights are rumoured to be among the most chivalrous in all the known world and their cohesion and prowess in battle is nothing short of miraculous. They adhere strongly to paganism although Henarism is gaining a foothold. The king at this point has decided that it is time for the deposed Jarnsida prince to take back his rightful throne in Hascad. The ruler of Duskad is Henrique Echeverria. Their culture is similar to that of regions in spain in the late Medieval period. Iberian. Their infantry is renowned the world around for being incredibly skilled with a sword and shield. They make use of chain mail and plate on occasion. Their helmets incorporate a closed face design offering more protection than their Hascadian counterparts. The bucket helmet is incredibly popular and has become a symbol of a chivalrous Duskadian Knight
