A game discussion thread. I'm going to be starting by laying down some of the games i've been looking forward to.
First up.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
A medieval roleplaying game set in the hay day of the feudal age. Almost nothing about the story has been released, they're focusing on the features for now which include a Very intuitive swordplay system involving armour curve and thickness. Anyone play Chivalry? Tired of getting killed through plate armour with a dagger in the chest plate? Not in kingdom come. You will actually feel like the powerhouse a medieval knight was wearing his towering suit of plate. On the converse you'll have to master half handing and the use of the pommel to beat other knights. From what's been revealed you start in the middle of nowhere and rise to some kind of fame through battle. Definetly one to watch. Did i mention it looks absolutely **** beautiful?
Spoiler (hover to show)

Project: Sessions
A skating simulator. Uncle Seagull is down with the youth of today, you'll be shredding nar and whipping mayo in a few hours with this one. If you bought into skate 3 on the 360 then you'll understand how rare a game like this is, twin stick controls with no combos unlike Tony Hawks. From what's been revealed you'll freeroam around cities going to various popular skate spots, definetly one to grab a load of mates and play. Not much has been shown to the public just yet but this is right up my alley.
Spoiler (hover to show)

Survive The Nights.
Sandbox freeroam survival sim with zombies thrown in cause it's a fad. This one appeals to me because they're releasing with quite a lot of features. Bolt sheets of corrugated iron onto an RV to create a movable bunker? Sure. Steal all the fuses from a town and board yourself up in a mansion causing the serfs to live in darkness? Sure. They're launching with full crafting, hunting and building. Those of you who buy into the survival genre will know how rare that is. Check it out.
Spoiler (hover to show)

What are you excited for? I may be forgetting some, i'll add more as I remember them.

What's your opinion on the bullshit that's getting thrown out the door these days under the guise of an "Exploration game"
Notable examples: Submerged, No man's sky.
Submerged is this peice of **** game with a little girl for the kawaii factor. She sits on a boat and bobs around a flooded city. But wait...There's...No more. No combat? No enemies? You literally cannot even die. You climb these buildings and look at stuff. 14 quid plz.
No man's sky is on the fence.  You go to planets and do what? Apparently aliens chase you so there may be some excitement there. I can appreciate meaning and **** but if you read too deep into a game you apply meaning to **** that has no meaning. Like a kid on a boat looking at buildings.

Identity
If anyone remembers the "Police" game iso linked yonks back, you'll be a fan of this one. MMO RPG without the grinding and levelling. Literally live life as a person and make all the dumb choices you can't find the courage in real life to make! You can become a meth cook and live out your final days doing blow and kidnapping hookers in your RV or, on the flip side, become a police officer and progress up through the rank, reach a comfortable desk jockey job eat more doughnuts than one man probably should and develop type 1 diabetes! Compare it to SAMPRP.
One of those games that are more concepts than games. My favourite.

I don't play games where I have to make my own goal.

I'm fine with making my own goal. Just so long as it's fun to do. Alot of the games I play are self driven fun but if you strip them all of any sense of peril, like submerged does then there's really no point to them.

Four games i'm really, really looking forward to:

SQUAD:
Basically a standalone game the Project Reality 2 folk made, also was inspired by PR2 and is looking pretty good in recent videos. Pretty sure they will be adding more scenarios other than the Middle East since they've added Russian forces recently.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord
I just love Mount & Blade, played it since the very early versions and probably played all of the famous mods that have been around for a bit. Talewords recently went to Gamescon and they showed alot of stuff that's going to be in the game there, even released a new trailer for it.

Project Slasher:
An "improvised" Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, if you will. Includes some really, REALLY good customization, decent AI and generally better combat gameplay. No image for this, sadly.

Armored Warfare:
To sum it up, it's a World of Tanks with modernized vehicles. It's looking pretty balanced and good at the current moment, and since i love armored vehicles, i'm pretty hyped for it.

SQUAD highly reminds me of insurgency. Which is already out and have a decent community. You can customize your equipment and loadout to better fit your playstyle, but are limited to squad classes which you pick (You'll generally get the class you want on one out of three games as far as I'm concerned in the worse case scenarios).
Everyone dance with me and meow around all night.
Except marsei who can't meow.

It reminds me more of Battlefield 2 (since it's inspired by a mod for that game), but yeah, i see what you mean regarding the similarity to Insurgency, specially with the classes and such.

Going off topic here, but..
Recently I've been playing ARK, its been super fun. Been messing around in singleplayer, exploring and getting myself killed. I've asked a few people if they wanted to have dino's named after them and they said yes, and etc and etc.
So I want to ask, if any of you want to be a dino in my single-player game. Message me on steam or something.
