Elves
Max age- 700. Elderly beyond 500 (Imagine a 90 year old human. Useless in combat beyond 500)
Elves are tall and nimble beings which are rumoured to be among the oldest beings in the known world. They are generally categorized into two groups. Wood elves and High elves.
Language- Elvish. Wood and high can understand each other, only difference in their languages is a few words and accent.
High elves
High elves are tall and slender in stature and live up to the reputation of being haughty. They are the oldest race of elf in the world and live in magnificent stone cities which seem to defy gravity. Their craftsmanship and leadership is renowned the world over. High elves founded the Porlarren Empire many hundreds of years ago. They have since subjugated nations further north than most have heard of and have been showing signs of hostility towards those in the south, namely in Hascad and Duskad. Most elves follow the Henarist faith. Some say the faith found its roots in the centre of the Porlarren empire and spread out across the known world from there. High elves are masters of diplomacy. An emissary from the Porlarren empire -it is said- possesses such skill with words they could make a man hand over all his gold. Stringing him along with false promises and pretense to bend him to his will. This has caused some to distrust high elves and others to desire having one as a spymaster of chancellor. Their diplomatic advice is highly sought after and trade flows freely in and out of their borders. They spin the most fabulous silk and turn it to incredibly fancy clothing incorporating the most expensive dyes and stitching. Clothing is a common gift to recieve from a high elf seeking to get on your good side.

Wood elves
These elves do not differ from high elves in any physical manner although it is said their skin is tinted slightly green. This may be attributed to their surroundings, they broke off from the high elves of the porlarren empire many years ago and formed kinbands of extended families, they fled south and across into the southern forests of Telad. Now they can be seen in all walks of life. Some even abandoning the kinbands and settling down amongst the Teladians and Hascadians in less spectacular cities than they are accustomed to. Those who remained in their kinbands live a simple life which is semi-nomadic. In the winter months they venture south to warmer climbs to graze their animals and enjoy a less harsh winter and in the summer months they head north once more to return to their usual homes and plant crops in the fertile soil. They are not a warlike people and would rather remain unseen than get into open confrontation. As far as society goes they have abandoned everything that made them high elves in the first place, they are no longer so haughty and do not pride themselves on material possessions. They instead lead a life of self fulfillment and enjoyment. Hunting and feasting in cosy, rustic villages in forest clearings. Although not warlike, their prowess with a bow is known to all. It is said that a skilled wood elf archer can clip the wings of a horsefly from 20 feet with a bow. Wood elves are masters of disguise and are said to fashion clothing from the forests which allows them to blend in. One notorious wood elf, Ghillie dhu is said to wear clothing made entirely of leaves and branches and hide along paths in the forest to guide lost travellers along without ever being seen. Many wanderers describe hearing a raspy voice encouraging them to push on in spite of darkness of seemingly being lost without hope.
