Goblins
Max life span 300 years.
Goblins are referred to by orcs as “Rakash” and many goblins found themselves enslaved after their race appeared a few hundred years ago. It is unknown how long goblins have been around, They only occupy a permanent place in story books. Goblins are small creatures with large droopy ears and a maw filled with dagger like teeth. In storybooks they are usually involved in stealing something valuable or found hiding under the beds of small children. They are about 3-4 feet tall when stood on their hind legs however most, if you’d ever saw one would be scurrying along the ground on all fours like a hairless dog. They are capable of competent thought and speech and display more mental prowess than your average orc. In the storybooks or tales told of encounters with them it is said that they can steal a chain from around your neck and the handkerchief from your pocket without your knowing. They are notoriously light on their feet due to their size and have an almost unquenchable lust for gold. Orcs hold a special hate for these beings. If you ever got an orc to open dialogue on one of these “Rakash” you’d soon find out why. They are creations of a large group of Orcish shamans. These orcish shamans set out to accomplish something. What is unknown as all who were involved were turned into these creatures. The original eight Goblins created fled the camp fearing being shunned for their new appearance. They fled to a large ravine in the land where they lived in darkness for hundreds of years, breeding and multiplying. They breed in litters of up to 6. The runt of which is usually consumed by the others. The place which they call home, now referred to as the rift has been the subject of fascination for many years, many set of to find it and either returned empty handed or didn’t return at all. All that is known is that at one point one goblin managed to ascend the ravine walls and construct a way up for his people, from there, goblins poured forth into the world to steal that which they so desired, gold. Their short stature ensures that they would not win a one on one battle with any human who is worth his salt. However they are capable of almost ghostlike stealth and guile. They use this to a deadly advantage. Most killed by a goblin were never aware of it’s presence. They hold all things luminescent in high regard as in the rift, the sun only shone down directly into the floor of the ravine once a day for a short period, allowing the creatures light. They pioneered a glowing ink which reacts to such light which is a closely guarded secret among them. However, many say that in darkness it is as if the ink was never there. In direct sunlight the tattoos common to many goblins glow with a bright orange sheen.
