Abjuration(Minor)
« on: May 29, 2016, 04:03:37 am »
- Abjurations are protective spells. They create physical or magical barriers, negate magical or physical abilities, harm trespassers

Practical application- Abjurers were highly sought after before the civil war, The Jarnsidas were relatively accepting of magic. A popular abjurer could enter a city and leave with his pockets full of gold. Casting “Good luck” wards or protective wards on children or homes. After the civil war most abjurers were captured and forced to turn over their studies to the inquisition. The ones who managed to slip through the cracks now earn their living by doing what they did before the war in secrecy or have adopted more meagre lifestyles, turning their backs on their magical pasts. Abjurers were said to be able to enchant entire households to protect people. Some say they could cast long green tentacles which snare malevolent beings to the plane of existence so they can be confronted or otherwise challenged. Some mystics say that an abjurer can completely disappear from the mind’s eye of a talented clairvoyant or psychic. The crystal ball truly is transparent when it is aimed at an abjurer.

Use- Spells to cast wards over entire homes are done in a ritualistic manner usually involving elaborate preparations carried out by the abjurer himself usually in private so as to avoid copycatting. More “Ready” spells such as absorbing kinetic or arcane energies can be done on the fly with little preparation other than evoking that spell from memory to protect oneself just in time.
